How to stay active with a hectic schedule

How to stay active with a hectic schedule

How do you make time for exercise?

I get asked this all the time.

It is not a secret – I have real life problems and my schedule is not any less hectic than yours!

It’s not like i get any extra time to workout. We are all given the exact same 24 hours in our day.

The truth is we find time for the things that are important to us.

If leading a healthy lifestyle is important to you then you will find the time to make it work.

Working out 1 hour a week is much better than not working out at all

If you find a balance and set a standard for your time then you will find that you are able to fit your workouts in quite well most of the time.

I still miss workouts when I am busy / tired / upset  / just not bothered.

But there are a few key things that you have to focus on if you are having trouble making it stick as a habit.

  1. Wake up earlier and go to the gym

If you work out earlier you get it out-of-the-way quicker now you don’t have the worry of going to the chain on your head all day as you can see past that you actually enjoy stead of counting your calories about how you still have to work out later tonight

  1. Have a buddy hold you accountable

It’s so much easier to let yourself down when it comes to working out

If you had a friend that depends on you to meet up with them to get to the gym then you would be less likely to disappoint that person

  1. Bring your workout gear with you everywhere

Don’t make it harder on yourself by putting yourself around distractions.

If you know you would rather sit at home instead of working out, then you should do everything in your power to avoid going home after work or school.

Going straight to the gym eliminates any chances of you getting sidetracked by your couch or refrigerator

  1. Schedule your workouts accordingly

This is where you have to be real with yourself and what works for you.

If you aren’t a morning person, then it doesn’t make sense to try and go to the gym at 5am.

Same for people that try to workout late at night after a long day of work

It’s best that you are honest with yourself instead of setting yourself up for something that you cannot keep.

Most of living the fitness lifestyle is mental.

If you say you’re gonna workout at a certain time and don’t make it, you will wear down your self esteem by constantly breaking promises to yourself

  1. Incorporate your workouts into your everyday life

The irony of living a healthier lifestyle these days is that we think that everything we do has to be in a certain gym or workout setting

The whole world can be considered your “gym”

If we think like this instead of thinking that we have to go to the fitness center to workout, you can get a workout anywhere !

Take the stairs instead of the elevator

Park further away from the door at the grocery store

Those little adjustments over time will add up into a few extra 1000 steps a day

Those steps will eventually add up to the point where you won’t have to go to the gym and do any strenuous cardio for longer than necessary

If you are ready to take control of your life and take your fitness to the next level but you aren’t sure where to start, let’s start off the right way with my 21 day jump start program
