Some things just don’t make any sense.

Especially in the fitness world.

In fact, the longer I stay in business and help people who want to “get in shape,” the more don’t-make-sense things I see and hear.

Take the following for example:

  • Personal Trainers who claim to that they can help you lose 10 pounds in 10 days but look like they eat 10 donuts every single day
  • Strength “Coaches” who couldn’t lift a 30 pound dumbbell to save their life
  • Strange restrictive diets that only let you eat red foods  
  • People who only exercise for about 5 minutes a week and wonder why they aren’t reaching their fitness goals
  • Building aerobic endurance instead of muscle when trying to drop body fat and look more athletic
  • Instagram “models” who only post glute exercises so they can sell waist trainers and fit tea
  • Bro Scientists who give terrible recovery advice in gym locker rooms
  • Gym owners who refuse to workout in their own gyms 
  • New Years’ Resolutioners who spend all that money on a gym membership and new workout clothes just to quit after only two weeks
  • Only going to the gym when you feel like it and expecting to make consistent progress

There are probably 100 other things I could tack onto this list, but that would be a waste of time.

And wasting you time is the last thing I want to do…

Especially when you could be using your time to master this awesome exercise instead.


Exercise 6: Shoulder Press


Start with a good base with your feet. Your abs should be braced, and the dumbbells should be held at shoulder-height with your elbows in front and underneath the DBs. Start the movement by pressing the DBs straight overhead and pressing your elbows towards your ears. Lower the DBs back to the start position under control. Do not lean back to assist in the movement.
